The Big Marketing Myth - Even Little Red Riding Hood Was Smart
By Gauher Chaudhry

Even Little Red Riding Hood knew something wasn't right.

When the big bad wolf was hiding in her grandmother's bed, Little Red Riding Hood could tell that something looked weird about her grandmother's eyes, ears and teeth.

The big bad wolf could not fool her as much as he had hoped to.

But the Internet is little more different. It seems that people who are new to the Internet are a little bit more naive then Little Red Riding hood was.

Here are various Internet marketing myths:

Myth #1: Spamming

Too many people are convinced that spamming is the key to ultimate success. And who could blame them? Early Internet marketers used to send unsolicited email (when it wasn't considered unethical) and reaped great benefits.) I know a particular individual who actually became millionaire by sending out unsolicited email.

Today, spamming is considered one of the worst marketing techniques that can destroy your reputation and business.

Myth #2: Free For All Links Sites

Once upon a time in far away galaxy, this method of marketing used to work. But because of automation tools, people can submit their link to thousands of FFA link sites with out even going to the site. Nobody will even see your link!

The only think these sites are useful for is increasing the link popularity of your site and even then, research into whether it is worth the effort is not available.

Myth #3: Banner Exchanges

So sad. So sad. It always boggles me when people think that simply joining a banner exchange is going to bring mounds of traffic to their own web sites. This only works for sites that are generating thousands of visitors per day. The average site is lucky if they get 8-10 hits a day.

You are better off using banners on your site that promote your OWN products or services.

Myth #4: Free Classified Sites

The same thing has happened to free classified sites as it did to free for all link sites. Automation tools have eliminated the need to even visit the site to submit your ads, Although free classified advertising brings limited results, it probably is not worth the effort.

and the biggest myth is....

Myth #5: It Is Easy To Make Money On The Internet

There are literally thousands of advertisements on the Internet claiming that you can make big money with very little effort.

This simply is not the case.

I have been an Internet marketer for the last four years and I know that in order to make tens of thousands of dollars, it requires a lot of time and dedication.

If you are serious about making money on the Internet, there are days where you will be getting up early on the weekend or stay up late at night to accomplish key tasks.

Internet marketing also involves tracking your advertising techniques right down to the simple classified ad.

Bookkeeping is important as it allows you to budget properly and file your taxes accurately.

If an opportunity is advertised on the Internet that sounds way to easy, you have to be suspicious.

Little Red Riding Hood was and she protected herself from being eaten.
